As part of our Modernisation Programme, the Civil Reform Team have developed new licensing information on Courts.ie.
Our work focused on ensuring the new information is comprehensive, written in plain English, and aligned with court rules. While making sure it’s accessible and easier to understand for our users.
This helpful new information sets out:
- what licensing in the courts refers to,
- what applications are made in the District Court and Circuit Court,
- the process involved, and the proofs required,
- what happens at the annual licensing court,
- how to object to the renewal of a licence,
- what the licensing register is,
- how to search the licensing register.
We have engaged with a broad range of court users to develop this information, including Courts Service staff, members of the Judiciary, Legal Practitioners, members of AGS and other user groups.
Check out our new licensing information in our new licensing website section.
If you have any questions or feedback on the new pages, the Civil Reform team would love to hear from you at [email protected].
