Wardship
The purpose of wardship is to protect the person and the property of an individual when they lack the capacity to do so themselves. The Office of the Ward of Court can no longer accept applications for adult wardship. This was changed as part of the Assisted Decision Making Capacity Act.
New applications for adults must be made through the Decision Support Service.
