Appeals for a licence refusal

If you are refused a licence excluding a publican's licence, by An Garda Síochána or another body, you can appeal the decision to the District Court.

An appeal may be made when:

  • You have valid reasons or grounds to make the appeal
  • You believe the decisions was unfair or incorrect

Please see the different application types that typically fall under appealing a licence refusal here.

The most common types of refusals are refusal of a taxi licence and refusal of a gun licence.
